A crewed Red Sea yacht charter starts at about €15,000 a week before expenses. That is the entry price for a crewed sailing catamaran.
With APA and Egypt’s 14% VAT added, a €15,000 catamaran week comes to about €21,600. The largest superyachts on the Red Sea list at more than €300,000 a week.
What changes most is the price structure, and there are 2 kinds on this coast:
- Egyptian dive and safari yachts usually quote one all-inclusive price. Food, soft drinks, guides and transfers are in it. You add park fees, dive equipment, the visa and the tip.
- Visiting catamarans and superyachts quote a base rate. APA of 25 to 40% and, on the catamarans, 14% Egyptian VAT go on top.
How much does a Red Sea yacht charter cost per week?
A Red Sea yacht charter costs from about €15,000 a week for a catamaran to more than €300,000 for the largest superyachts, before expenses. Most of the fleet sits in 3 bands.
- Under €35,000 a week: crewed sailing catamarans and Egyptian dive yachts, for families and small groups. PIXIE, a 67 ft Fountaine Pajot catamaran, lists from €31,500. See Red Sea yachts under €40k.
- €60,000 to €130,000 a week: larger motor yachts and big power catamarans, with more space and a bigger crew. ALINA, a 79 ft power catamaran, lists from €70,000, and WIND OF FORTUNE, a 170 ft CRN, from €120,000. See Red Sea yachts under €100k.

These are listed weekly rates. Peak weeks list higher, and your broker confirms which yachts are cruising the Red Sea on your dates.
What does an all-inclusive Egyptian dive yacht cost?
An all-inclusive Egyptian dive yacht costs from under €35,000 a week for the whole yacht. The largest dive yachts run to about €60,000 a week.
The all-inclusive price covers food, soft drinks, dive guides and the crew. Many also include airport transfers.
Alcohol, dive equipment, nitrox and instructors usually cost extra. The Egyptian visa and the crew tip are always on top.
Some Egyptian yachts also sell shorter fixed trips of 3 or 4 nights. These start from about €7,000 for the whole yacht.
For a full week on a private dive yacht, see our guide to private Red Sea liveaboard charters.
How much is the APA on a Red Sea yacht charter?
The APA on a Red Sea yacht charter is 25 to 40% of the base rate. It is paid with the charter fee and spent during the week.
APA stands for Advance Provisioning Allowance. It pays for fuel, food, drinks and harbor costs, and the captain gives you a receipt for every item.
Any money left at the end is returned to you. If the week costs more, you settle the difference on board.
The rate depends on the yacht:
- Catamarans such as ALINA and PIXIE: 25%
- Some smaller sailing catamarans: 30%
- Larger motor yachts such as WIND OF FORTUNE: 35 to 40%
All-inclusive Egyptian dive yachts charge no APA. Food and soft drinks are already in their price.
Is there VAT on a Red Sea yacht charter?
Yes, the visiting catamarans in Egypt add 14% VAT to the base rate. That is Egypt’s standard VAT rate.
ALINA and PIXIE both print their Red Sea terms as the weekly rate plus 25% APA plus 14% VAT.
Egyptian dive yachts quote one all-inclusive figure. Your broker confirms the tax line for every yacht in the contract before you sign.
What does a Red Sea catamaran week cost all in?
A Red Sea catamaran week costs about €21,600 to €97,300 all in, before the tip. That adds the APA and 14% VAT to the base rate.
- A crewed catamaran at €15,000: €15,000 base + €4,500 APA (30%) + €2,100 VAT = €21,600
- PIXIE: €31,500 base + €7,875 APA (25%) + €4,410 VAT = €43,785
- ALINA: €70,000 base + €17,500 APA (25%) + €9,800 VAT = €97,300
VAT is shown here on the base rate. Park fees, the visa and the tip come on top of these totals.
How much are the Red Sea marine park fees?
Red Sea marine park fees run about €65 to €190 per guest, depending on the length of the trip. They are charged on top of most charter prices.
Recent yacht terms list these figures:
- A 4-day trip: about €65 to €90 per guest
- A full week: about €190 per guest
- Ras Mohammed entrance: €210 on one Sharm el Sheikh yacht, as of June 2026 and subject to change
Egypt plans to move to a per-day park fee. The start date has been postponed twice, so your broker quotes the fee that applies on your dates.
Our Hurghada to Sharm el Sheikh route passes Ras Mohammed, and the Marsa Alam and the southern reefs route covers the southern parks.
What else should I budget for on a Red Sea charter?
Budget $30 per person for the Egyptian e-visa, plus the extras your yacht does not include. The single-entry tourist e-visa is sold on the official site, visa2egypt.gov.eg (price as of October 2026).
The usual extras on the Red Sea are:
- Airport transfers, on yachts that do not include them
- Dive equipment and nitrox, on most dive yachts
- Alcohol, on all-inclusive yachts that cover soft drinks only
- A scuba or kite instructor, if you want lessons on board
- Park fees and the crew tip
How much should I tip the crew on a Red Sea charter?
A tip is always at the guest’s discretion. It is never charged up front, and no one on board asks for it.
The custom on Red Sea charters is 10 to 20% of the charter fee, a range the yacht operators here commonly suggest. It is handed to the captain on the last day and shared across the crew.
The tip is worked out on the base rate, never on VAT or APA. On an all-inclusive yacht, it is worked out on the all-inclusive price.
Small cruise ships on the Red Sea suggest a daily amount instead, about €15 to €18 per guest per day.
Which Red Sea yacht fits my budget?
For a group of divers, an all-inclusive Egyptian dive yacht gives the most diving for the money. Meals, guides and the crew are already in the price.
For a family or friends who want space and calm anchorages, a crewed catamaran is the easiest place to start. PIXIE and ALINA come to about €44,000 and €97,000 all in.
For a superyacht week, WIND OF FORTUNE lists from €120,000 and ELYSIUM from €162,500. Each comes with a full professional crew and its own chef.
